Cinnamon Flax Almond Butter

My husband loves this spread they sell at Bulk Barn. It’s slightly sweetened almond butter with a crunch from flaxseeds. Like always, when we find something we really like, we try to make it at home. If we can, we also try to make it a bit healthier.

I couldn’t find the ingredient list online, and I’m not sure if they still make it, but I think this tastes pretty close to the real thing.
MAKES 8-10 balls.

INGREDIENTS
– 2 cups almonds
– 1/8 tsp salt
– 2 tablespoons maple syrup
– 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
– 2 tablespoons flaxseed (not ground)

DIRECTIONS
1. In a food processor, blend the almond butter until it forms a smooth and runny butter. The longer you blend it, the runnier it will get. This will take a while (around 15-20 minutes), so please be patient. Scrape down the sides as you go along.
2. Once the almonds have formed a runny almond butter, add in the additional ingredients and pulse.
3. Store in fridge.
